A Kiwi at heart, Bernard’s background spans hospitality, publishing, regulatory affairs, construction, and IT services. In his free time, he loves boating, listening to live jazz, and traveling.

Over the years, he’s hired many staff and, as a result, gradually noticed that many qualified candidates often miss out on great job opportunities simply because their CVs don’t effectively showcase their true value.

Consequently, this realization ultimately led him to create CV4Students, a platform specifically designed to help individuals overcome this challenge. Furthermore, this initiative aims to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity, ensuring that deserving candidates are not overlooked in the competitive job market.

In particular, it focuses on supporting those who face the greatest challenges, such as school leavers and immigrants.

MIMA SILVA

Mima is a dedicated professional residing in Brazil, where she oversees the South American desk. Along with a solid background in IT and web services, she is also passionate about music and reading. Michael, now based in Auckland after spending many years in Australia, manages the Australasian desk and has an extensive career in both the hospitality and publishing industries. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, driving his restored 1969 C10 Chevrolet truck, or just standing over a charcoal barbecue.

Over the years, he has employed numerous staff and fully appreciates how a well-crafted CV can make a significant difference for any job seeker. Based on his experience, he knows too well that employers usually give CVs just a quick glance, so it’s crucial to clearly communicate who you are and what you offer right away.

Andrew Chikkone

Andrew manages the European desk and has a background in the financial sector. He enjoys attending live concerts and is an avid traveler. He arrived in New Zealand in 2001 to study English but soon decided to make it his permanent home.

Andrew pursued a career in accountancy but faced challenges in securing a job. After submitting over 100 applications without a single interview, he realized that his CV was not up to standard. This experience became a pivotal lesson for him.
